Third Death in Sebade Family in Less Than One Year
Mrs. Herman Sebade, who with her husband and family lived about five miles northeast of Creighton, died about 10 o'clock Monday night.
Her death was very sudden. She was taken sick, Sunday morning, but nothing serious was anticipated. She grew rapidly worse until noon, when aphysician was called.
Nothing seemed to relieve her and on Monday, she became delirious. another doctor was hastily summoned and a consultation was held. The treatment applied failed to prove effective, however. About 10 o'clock that night she passed away.
She leaves a husband and eight children, the oldest, a girl, being 16 and the youngest, also a girl, being but nine months old. Besides thesean aged mother and several brothers and sisters survive her.
Mrs. Marguerite Sebade was born in Husted, Germany, nearly 38 years ago. She came to this country with her parents, when she was eight years of age, the family settling in Illinois.
She was married to Herman Sebade 18 years ago in Homewood, Cook county,Illinois. She came to Nebraska with her husband and one child in 1888,settling near Creighton, where Mr. Sebade rented land.
They lived in this vicinity three years and, then, moved to Beemer, near which town they bought a farm of their own. They lived there five years, sold out and returned to Creighton, buying the Henry Fisher farm, where they have lived ever since.
The funeral occurred at 1 o'clock Thursday from the Creighton German Lutheran church. She was laid to rest in the Creighton cemetery.
The funeral was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends,among them being her mother, Mrs. Marguerite Schmeckpeper, her two brothers, Fred of Thurston, Neb. and John of Creighton, two sisters, Mrs.Herman Seabrandt of Beemer and Mrs. Henry Anders of Bloomfield, two ofMr. Sebade's brothers, Ernst Sebade of Beemeer and Henry Sebade of Randolph, her brother-in-law, William Anders of Creighton and a number of neices and nephews.
This makes the third death in the Sebade family in less than a year; John Sebade dying last summer and his wife six weeks later.
The sorrowing husband and motherless little ones have a hard battle before them.
Mr. Sebade had just completed tearing down part of his house and was going to replace it with a large 2 story building. The material was on the ground and the mechanics were to have commenced work on the morning of the fatal day, but were requested by Mr. Sebade to postpone it untilhis wife recovered.
He will probably complete it now and endeavor to keep his children together, in which effort he will have the sympathy and encouragement of all.
