Funeral services for Walter F. Skeet Fiddelke were held Friday, July 28at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. Mr. Fiddelke passed awayJuly 24 at his home following a short illness. Rev. Charles Kramer officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Lloyd Ebel, Doug Ebel, and DanEbel, Craig Paulling, Greg Sjaarda, Warren Fiddelke,Wayne Fiddelke andWesley Fiddelke. The congregation sang two hymns accompanied at the organ by Mr. N.H. Behrens. Interment was in St. John's with the cemetery at Germantown with arrangements under the care of the Gaudian funeral. Walter F. Fiddelke was the son of John and Sophia nee Lustfield, was born on Dec. 26, 1904 in Caledonia Twp., O'Brien Co. Iowa. He was baptizededucated and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John's. On Aug. 29, 1929 Walter married to Gertrude Dobbertin. To this union three children were born. Walter and Gertrude farmed at various farms in the area and retired in 1966 in Paullina. About six months ago Walter became seriously ill and passed away at his home on Monday of last week at the ages 73 years, six months and 28 days. He leaves to cherish his memory hisbeloved wife Gertrude, his two daughters, Caroline, Mrs. Wilmont Paulling, of Granville, Margaret Mrs. Harry Ebel of Paullina; and one son, Wallace of Paullina. He is survived by 12 grandchildren. And three great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry of Paullina; and three sisters, Ernaof Pontiac, Michigan Mrs. Ida Paulling of Paullina, and Irene Mrs. Walter Niebuhr of Paullina. His parents, three brothers and one sister andthree grandchildren preceded him in death. This information was published by the Paullina Times,July 1978
