Mr. J. C. HOLZWART.
MARBURG. Sept. 6. - The death occurred on September 2, after a short illness of Mr. Johann Christian Holzwart, aged 81 years 6 months. He was born at Kirchberg, Wurtemberg, Germany, and left the old country in May, 1886, on board the steamer "Dacca."
He landed in Brisbane in July the same year, and was married in 1887. He was a baker by trade, but followed this occupation in this country for two brief periods only. He lived in the Boonah district for some years. Later, with his family, he came to Walloon, and in 1902 bought a property at Mt. Marrow, where he remained until he retired from farming about 15 years ago. Then, with his wife, he lived at Marburg until the end.
The late Mr. Holzwart is survived by his widow. four sons. and five daughters. The survivlng children are Messrs. Emil Holzwart (Murgon), Carl Holzwart (Toowoomba), William Holzwart (Nobby), Fred Holzwart (Mt. Marrow), Mesdames W. Wendt (Haigslea), W. Kapnernick (Murgon), B. Holzheimer (Bethania), Misses Emma and Mathilda, Brisbane.
Rev. Quast of the Marburg Lutheran Church conducted the funeral service. The late Mr. Holzwart was an upright, religious man and had chosen the text referred to at his funeral.
