Ola Ray "Doc" Burdette, 82, of Parkersburg, passed away Sept. 20, 2014,at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
Doc had previously owned and operated the Burdette's Union 76 and Burdette Sunoco for 45 years. He enjoyed raising and running fox hounds on his Utah Hill Fox Pen, where he and Dortha hosted hunters from all overthe United States. Doc served as president of the Butcher Hill Hunt Club and West Virginia State Fox Chasers for many years.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Dortha Mason Burdette; two sons, Steven Ray Burdette (Susan) of Parkersburg and Michael Ray Burdette (Melissa) of Washington, W.Va.; one daughter, Debbie S. Marchant (Jarvis) ofHazlehurst, Ga.; grandchildren, Megan Marchant and Matt Marchant (Kelsey) of Hazlehurst, Ga., Amber Silvia (Tom) and Trampus Burdette (Danielle), Zack Burdette and Tyler Burdette, all of Parkersburg; and three great-grandsons, Bryson, Nate and Zachary.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers.
