OCCUPATION: Obituary: "Wayne's work had an impact on all lives. Whileworking for Notifier Corp. in Lincoln, he designed the firstmicroprocessor based fire/burglar alarm system around 1978 and worked onone of Notifier's security systems installed in the World Trade Centers.Wayne later worked for Otis Elevator Company and designed the majorcontroller for their next generation of elevators. From there he went towork for Keytronic in 1991 to design upgrades to IBM computer keyboards.By 1999 Wayne was employed by Qualcomm and given the task of developingthe system that allowed manufacturers to design the cell phone, called 2Gthen 3G at that time. So every time you use a cell phone, there's alittle part of Wayne in it."
