Created by Brian Paul Kaess, a U.S. Disabled Veteran (10%) living in Las Villas, Durango, Mexico. He hails from Chicago. Research current as of June 6, 2024. Particular focus on SW German, and Upper Silesian Families. His American Mom Marie Ellen Dawson also has some German Roots to Hesse, the Palatinate, Switzerland, and Thuringia. She is a direct descendant of Jabob Luther, Martin Luther's Brother and Rev. Johann Nicholaus Kurtz (1720-1794), the 1st Lutheran Pastor ordained in America. His German Dad Gerd Edwin Paul Kaess is a direct descendant of of Ludwig I (1412-1450), Count of Wuerttemberg-Urach, who is also a 'Gateway' ancestor to Charlemagne 'the Father of Europe'. Surnames on Dad's side include Kaess, Falkenecker, Giessel, Lang, Glock, Rapp, Entenmann, Dorschke, Drozdzok, Droszdzok, Niestroy, Mandrisch, Buron, Kapusczik (Kapuscik), Kokott, Niewrzol, Kordula, Swienty, Schneider, Klima, Broza, Piela, Syrnik, Kloshek, Pielczyk, etc.; In 1990, his Paternal Grandfather Paul handed him a Heirloom album, Benningen town history book (1979), and Genealogical Papers which later sparked an interest in Genealogy. It was as if the brass 'Plates of Nephi' had been passed from one generation to another. He became a Genealogy Hobbyist after visiting the Newberry Library in Chicago in 2010. Brian is a Member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) and AHSGR Village Coordinator (VC) for the villages of Gnadental, Lichtental, and Sarata in Bess., Russia. (now Ukraine); He is also a former Member of Germanic Genealogy Society, Southwest Florida Germanic Genealogy Society, Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society, Polish Genealogical Society of America, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Military Order of Stars and Bars. He is also a Member of the Marine Corps Association (MCA), American Veterans for Ukraine (AVU), and an NGO called Chicago Veterans. He has published a number of family books, and written articles in Journals, Newsletters, and has his own blog. He is simply a Genealogy enthusiast. |
