Notes for this person
Cöler war einerseits eine sehr umstittene Persönlichkeit, andererseitsgalt er als strenger Lutheraner. Schulbesuch in der Heimatstadt, ab 12.11.1633 in Göttingen am Pädagogium. Im 2. Halbjahr 1637 imm. an derIniv. Jena und ab 1640 in Leipzig. Dort erlangt er am 27.1.1642 die Magisterwürde. Lehrer der griechischen Sprache ab 4.6.1642 in Göttingenam Gymnasium. Ab 1.8.1648 Rektorat an der städtischen Lateinschule inNaumburg, ging 1654 zurück nach Jena und ein Jahr darauf wieder nachNaumburg. Ab 1660 2. Pastor an der St. Ägiedienkirche zu Osterode, ab1663 hält er die 1. Pfarrstelle zu Osterode. 28.6.1674 wird er als Superintendent nach Jena berufen (3 Kinder)
