<p>Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Ralph C. Garrett are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the First Baptist Church of Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.</p>

<p></p>

<p>Interment will follow at the Cummings Cemetery in Maud, with full Military Honors under the direction of the Knight Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.</p>

<p>Garrett died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the age of 85 in Kingston.</p>

<p></p>

<p>He was born May 23, 1918, in Enid to Vernon William Garrett and Vena (Postier) Garrett.</p>

<p></p>

<p>He was married to Rowena M. (Richardson) Garrett on Sept. 19, 1939, in Caldwell Kan.</p>

<p></p>

<p>He was a longtime Maud resident and had served in the National Guard.</p>

<p></p>

<p>He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, during the "Battle of the Buldge’ and assisted during the Airlift in Berlin.</p>

<p></p>

<p>While he was in the military, he was a flight line supervisor and received several commendations for keeping the aircraft in top shape.</p>

<p></p>

<p>Following his time in the Army, he enlisted in the Air Force and served until retirement.</p>

<p></p>

<p>After his retirement, he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in the early 1980’s.</p>

<p>He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud.</p>

<p></p>

<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rowena on June 17, 2001; one sister and two brothers.</p>

<p>He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Rae Seeney of Kingston; two sons, Vernon G. Garrett of Boise, Idaho and Jack C. Garrett of Yukon; one sister, Thelma Johnson of Enid; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
