Oral history says that they were only small farmers and make their money with "peat". In that time, people heating there rooms with peat (torf). It was good time for it and they made some good money...

There is also a picture of the three Immigrants...

Oral history:

He also was in music. He bought in the early years a Grammophone and also a Dektaphone (early Radio). Every sunday people came and they dance in the kitchen an so on. (Wasn't typical at that time - shows they had some money and like music)

Before he died 1918 he ask one of the russians (Because of War - they must work at the farm) to play Balalaika for him - then he died..
