Hattie Goettsch, 98,of Davenport, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Silver C

rest Assisted Living, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 10 a

.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation wi

ll be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, atthe funeral home. Burial will be in Pi

ne Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorialsmay be made to Silver Crest Garn

er Farms.

Mrs. Goettsch was born Sept. 17,1905, in Sheridan Township, Iowa, to Will

iam and Bertha (Arp) Stoltenberg. She married Orey H. Goettsch on Jan. 1

2, 1927, in Davenport. He died Aug. 3, 1990. She and her husband farmed ne

ar Eldridge. She also worked in the coffee shop and cafeteria of the form

er Mercy Hospital, Davenport. She enjoyed all her family and their activit

ies, including playing cards.

Survivors include sons, Gordon W. Sr. (Arlene) Goettsch, of Long Grove, Io

wa, and Robert H. Goettsch and Larry O. (Janet) Goettsch, all of Eldridg

e, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-gran

dchildren; and brother, Peter Stoltenberg, of Davenport. She was preced

ed in death by three sisters, three brothers, a daughter-in-law, and a gra

nddaughter.
