Wiltfang, age 83, of Dixon, and formerly of Amboy, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born June 16, 1932, in Stillman Valley, the son of Curtis and Marie (Morgan) Wiltfang. He had worked for Lilja Tiling in amboy, Flex-O-Glass in Dixon, managed Cummins Apartments and was a janitor for Washington School both in Dixon. He was a Veteran of the Navy during the Korean War. Gerald married Lorraine J. Kennay in Oregon, Illinois, January 21, 1961. She preceded him in death September 18, 1972. Survivors include 3 daughters Lisa (James Houghtaling) Mitchell and Rhonda (Patrick) Buch both of Dixon, and DeAnn (Dean) Svela of Rochelle; 1 son Gerald (Joann) Wiltfang, Jr., of Rockford; step-son Michael Clayton of Amboy; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Marjorie Schellschmidt of Rockford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Meyer, Pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Dixon, officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy with Military Graveside Rites by the Amboy American Legion. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. A memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
