He was 80. Norm was born at St. John to Julius and Octive Myott Zorb. He grew up in St. John and attended school there. As a young man, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. in Nov. 1942. He served overseas attached to the carrier USS Washington and was honorably discharged a sergeant Sept. 14, 1945. Norm returned to St. John where he met and married Shirley June 1, 1946. They moved to Montana for a brief time where he worked in a Ford garage and then returned to farming near St. John. Norman attended Kinman Business School in Spokane and soon started working for the St. John Inland Empire Milling Co. as their bookkeeper. They moved to Cottonwood, ID. from 1963-1968 and then settled back to Colfax where he started a long career as manager/ bookkeeper for Spokane Seed Co.. He retired in 1990. Norm was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Colfax Elks, Eagles and American Legion. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors or in the woods. He was an avid wood and metal worker and loved to tinker. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, at their Colfax home; four children, Mike, Pat, Vikki, and Georgine; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, LaVern "Bus" and Bob, and George; 2 sisters, Doris and Mamie.
