Ein Kind ist vor 1910 verstorben.
Peter Joseph Höher war Gründungsmitglied des Männergesangvereins "Liederkranz"in Refrath, von 1883 bis 1892 deren 1.Vorsitzender und ab 1892 Ehrenvorsitzender.
Er emigrierte 07.09.1892 in die USA.
Er ist nach einem Besuch in Deutschland am 28. Mai 1896 von Bremen mit dem Schiff Hohenstaufen der Norddeutschen Lloyd in die USA zurückgefahren und am 10.Juni 1896 in Baltimore angekommen. Er gab bei dem US-Imigration-Officer als Beruf Blacksmith an und daß er weiter nach Louisville in Kentucky reisen möchte (siehe Einreisenotitz).
Volkszählungen von 1900 und 1910 belegen, daß er sich in Louisville im Staate Kentucky niedergelassen und dort die deutschstämmige Theresia Luckmann geheiratet hat. Theresia hat 6 Kinder geboren.
Von seinem Tode existiert ein Beleg des City Hospital Louisville vom 10.2.1917, welcher bescheinigt, daß Peter Joseph vom 25.1.1917 bis zum 8.2.1917 Patient war und an einer postoperativen Lungenentzündung verstorben ist.(Die Angabe des Geburtsdatums mit 11.6.1866 ist in der Todesanzeige als auch in den Volkszählungen falsch).
