Er veröffentlichte zahlreiche Publikationen zu vielen Gebiet en der Theologie, und gabe eine Literaturzeitschrift herau s . S. J. Baumgarten war der beliebteste Lehrer an der dama ls g rößten deutschen theologischen Fakultät und der maßgeb ens e L ehrer einer ganzen theologischen Generation.
