Im Jahre 1597 wurde Georg Bischof mit dem „Hammer im Heubacher Grund“ belehnt, der vorher bestanden haben muß und von der Hammerfamilie Bischof aus Hinternah gegründet wurde. Er bildet die Keimzelle des Dorfes Tellerhammer.
Noch vor Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts haben Schnetter Einwohner an der Biber die ersten Häuser „im Weidig“ erbaut und dort ihre Schnetter Mühle angelegt. Sie wohnten „im Einsiedel im Weidig“, dem heutigen Dörfchen Einsiedel.
