Phyliss M. DEEM

Phyllis M. Hoppes, 84, of Andreas, died Thursday, July 27, surrounded by loved ones and caregivers. She was the wife of the late Harvey F. Hoppes. Prior to retiring, she was employed by the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds, as a homemaker and at the Christian Retreat, New Ringgold. Born in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Virginia (Blew) Deem. Phyllis was a member of Zion's Stone Church of West Penn Township. She was preceded in death by a son, Darren S. and his wife Tina; three brothers, Francis, Kenneth and Lamar; four sisters, Helen McKeever, Leah Gerber, Ruth Brown and Verna Kline. Surviving are three sons, Dale R., and his wife Dora, David K., and Dwain H., a daughter, Colleen D., all of Andreas; a brother, Ernest, and his wife Donna, of New Ringgold; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services: will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 31, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Ken Melber and Rev. Greg Laible officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Zion's Stone Church Cemetery. Published in Times News on July 28, 2017
