Phillip S. Hickman, 67, of Ridge Farm, went home to be with his Lord at 9:26 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2004) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born Nov. 21, 1936, the son of Vernon and Cora Mae Cheuvront Hickman in Fairmount, Ill. He married Delores (Dee) Spesard on Jan. 30, 1965, in Danville and she survives. Other survivors include: one son, Eric (Angie) Hickman of Danville; three daughters, Faith (Greg) Dunn in Florida, Vickie (Tim) Wright of Oakwood, Ill., and Tammi (Glenn) Billings of Georgetown, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Loran, and Seth Hickman, Steven Dunn, Kayla, Breana, and Lukas Phillip Wright, Dalton and Holden Billings; three brothers; his father-in-law, Loran Spesard of Georgetown, Ill.; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother, and his mother-in-law. Phil faithfully served the Lord at Second Church of Christ in Danville. Phil installed commercial and residential overhead doors for many years, retiring in 1999. He loved woodworking, camping and going to Florida. Phil was a devoted husband and father and his grandchildren were very special to him. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Sunset Funeral Home Cremation Center in Danville with Drew Mentzer officiating; Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm;Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home.
