Topeka State Journal, Monday, Nov. 25, 1957, page 19: Mrs. Amanda Anderson Zirkle, 83, of 2835 Iowa, died Monday at her home. She was a native of Auburn and was a lifelong resident of Shawnee county, living at Berryton before moving to her present home in 1943. A member of the Highland Park Methodist church, she leaves three daughters, Miss Clarice Zirkle of the home, Mrs. Ruth Garwood of Auburn and Mrs. June Bergman of Manhattan; four sons, Paul Zirkle of Auburn, Russell Zirkle of Texarkana, Tex., Harold Zirkle of 1430 Byron and Wayne Zirkle of 429 Forest; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the Highland Park Methodist church with burial in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. The McMichael Memorial home is in charge of arrangements.
