Harmen Gerdes ist in den Contributionslisten 1618-22 als Bauer notiert. 1606 weist das Registrum der Rethwischer Kirche eine Zahlung von 3 Gulden 21 Schillingen und 6 Denaren aus, die Harmen Gerdes für Rente und Hauptstuhl leistete. Im Rechnungsjahr 1607/08 war eines seiner Kinder gestorben, denn er gab "Glocken- und Testamentengeld" für ein Kind. 1609 zahlte er 8 Schilling "für Boldecke und Klocken" an die Kirche (die Boldecke, auch boldeke, war das geweihte [?] Leichen- oder Sargtuch, das man zum Begräbnis von der Kirche lieh. -- Chronik der Bauernhöfe von Rethwisch-Börgerende, Karin Teltschik
