My cousin Jan (Highland) Clemson lives in or near Seattle. Her brother's name is Kent. He still lives in Sac City and farms on the old family farm. They have another sister, Connie, that lives in Des Moines. As I said yesterday, the rest of the Highlands are around the Midwest, with the exception of 2 in Colorado. After I emailed you yesterday, I looked up some more info I have on the Shell family. This is what I have on the "kids": Elizabeth-married Henry Farnum on February 10, 1856. Their daughter is the Jennie I mentioned before. I have a picture of Elizabeth and a couple of Jennie. In an old photo album that belonged to my aunt Maurine (Highland) Schnirring, there is a picture on the opposite page of Elizabeth's that says Uncle Jim Farnum. I wonder if Henry's nickname was Jim. The pictures were taken at the same photographer. Jennie's married name was Spoor. William Born 1837. Died 1916. First married to Kate Mack in 1871. She died in 1886. Second wife was Martha-married on Jan. 8, 1889. She was born in 1849 and died in 1921. Levi-no info on him but I do have 2 pictures identified as "Lee." One is of him on a bicycle. It is dated on the back Oct. 15, 1895. It looks like he is wearing spandex. Barbara-married H.J. Baxter. Their daughter is Carrie Baxter. She married someone named Lowery-Ed, I think. Daniel-state senator at the time the Minnesota capitol was built. I have a couple of pictures of him. Across from him in the album is one of a woman-she is unnamed but is probably his wife. I would love to have the broach she's wearing! Mary-married John M. Highland on December 1, 1868. Two daughters-Ada Estelle died as a child and Bevie. Bevie married someone with the last name of Watt. Helen Moria-my great grandmother. Born Nov. 8, 1848, married Walter Thomas (W.T) Highland on January 18, 1870. Two children: Clyde and Lena Ethel who died in infancy. Laura-she married someone with the last name of Page. I have a picture of their son Wallace. There is one of 2 girls. One is in a barrel and the other one is standing over her with a hatchet. It looks sort of like an early Olin Mills setting. It says June 18, 1886, Lillie and Hanna. Then the initials "S.P.S." I don't know who they are. There are pictures of Mark and George. I don't know who they are. Also one of a Cora. I checked out your website last night. I wasn't able to get into the Shell Tree then for some reason but I tried again and was able to view it. It could be that some of these unidentified pictures or those with names I don't recognize are from the Kentner side. I see there was a George or 2 on that side. I need to get my info on the web, too. If you want to send my your address, I'll send you copies of the information I have. As soon as I get together with a friend with a scanner, I'll send you the photos. I probably have 10 or 12 that are of the Shells. I always thought they sounded like a nice family. I guess you would have to be with all those kids! Didn't one of the boys drown? It seems like I read that somewhere and I believe we saw his grave when my sister, Mom, and I went to Prairie Du Sac, WI [geokentr.FTW] Residence: St. Lawrence County NY and Sauk County Wisconsin. On the back of his wife Lovina's picture, it says: Lovina KENTNER married David SHELL of Williamsburg, Ontario in 1832 or 33. I also have a scanned copy of a picture of David SHELL, from an old KENTNER album owned by Ray KENTNER of Waddington. From Kentner Ahlf: David moved from NY to Sauk Co, Wisconsin in 1855.
