RIN 545 BIRTH..c 1779 In Niagara or enroute to Machiche Mathias 1779 being on the Machiche Provison list when the family arrived 6 July "from Niagara" with 5 children, 3m & 2 f, the two youngest being males "under 10" After 1779 there were two male children on every provision list with presumably John (1773) as the older male and Mathias the younger. On arrival in Dundas in 1784 he would have been the male under 5 He was alive in 1806 when George petitioned for land for him as SUE. Granted in 1807. Land wasn't granted to dead Loyalists. To restate the situation, Many have believed that Mathias died young c21 rather than after 1807 when he was 28. Coonrad when continuing names and ages came to Matthias with "Mathias and four others who died in Infancy without being christened". Matthias was christened and.it seems to mean that Mathias had died as an adult before1849 but assigned no age by Coonrad. In the 1806 land petition for Mathias it was stated that Mathias was born a "nidget" & certified by the JP as "the most Pitiful Human creature in nature and is Incapable of doing any Kind of business to his own support" (C2117 K8/20 18070130) DEATH..aft 1807 bef 1849 when Coonrad Petitioned for Land George was granted 200 acres 'in trust' for Mathias in Stormont Co. Finch Twp. Lot 4 Con 8 OC 7 Mar 1807 and sold it on 15 June 1811 for ℗£20
