H Egle, (ed) Harrisburg PA Vol XVII 1892 "aus Wurttemberg" (c1727) Conrad's Land Petition in 1849."father would be upwards of 120 years of age" 1727 a 2nd George Kentner was listed in the KRR NY muster rolls, no additional data MARRIAGE..bef 3 Oct 1764, had a wife when he landed in Philadelphia in "King of Prussia" Son Coonrod's 20 Nov 1849 Land Petition.." your petitioner's mother's name was Sarah Brown" What was George's Christian name? As he gave John/Johan as a Christian name to 3 of his 6 sons we might expect that it was his, too. Two kept only their Christian name, John, while Johan Conrad went by his 'family' name.. Frederick's 'family' name was quite customarily, that of the male sponsor at his baptism, Bernhard.Freidrich. It would not be at all surprising if Frederick and Matthais each had some version of John as their Christian name, although Matthias itself could have been considered as such. John, born 1768, named his son John George likely after his paternal grandfather. In 1849 Conrad petitioned for land as SUE. The form required a list of siblings with their ages. Conrad's memory was not 100% accurate, but going back about 80 years not unexpected CHILDREN.. Found several of our Susquehanna Loyalists in the Drouin Collection of Quebec Vital Records that is now online at Ancestry.ca. The records are for the Trois Rivieres Protestant Church 1768-1792 Henry 1781 born 4th Oct, baptised the 7th of said month son of George Kintner and Sarah Brown, sponsors: his parents. 3 birth dates have documentation which conflicts with those remembered by Conrad. Eleanor's, John's & Elizabeth's. Nelly (aka Elinor) Kentner was, along with about 100 others, struck from the provision list on 1 Aug 1781 because she was age 17. If so, she was born in 1764, the very year the Kentners arrived in Philadelphia, in which case her mother was Caucasian. DEATH.. bef 1816 John & Frederick's Land Petitions as SUEs in 1816 "late George Kentner" aft 1811 when he sold Lot 10 Con 3 Matilda, possibly moving in with either Frederick in Mountain Twp or Elizabeth in Osnabruck Twp and buried in the Hough Family Burial Ground. Passenger with 'wife' on "King of Prussia" Cowes to Philadelphia 3 Oct 1764 (Breithard 926.21) George & Wife arrived Philadelphia 3 Oct 1764; fare paid was only that required for man & wife, no children (Rupp) George & wife had their "freight" paid for by a Lawyer, Joseph Galloway and they were then indentured to Galloway for 2 1/4 years. He had several estates inthe Philadelphia area and it's likely that they worked there. Eleanor may have been born before 3 Oct 1764 at sea enroute to America and not charged for as there would be no cost to feed her. 1767-1771 After the indentureship ended it was normal for the people to leave with a legally required amount of clothing and tools to look for a farm of their own. It's possible that George & Sarah went to Lancaster or York Co. PA where there were many Germans already settled George did become friendly with Jacob Anguish who came from there and was recruited to fight with the CT side in the Pennamite war. An option is that they went to CT as Joseph Galloway, a lawyer, had performed some services to the Susquehanna Land Company and been paid with a 'proprietership' in the company. He might well have made it easy for George to work for the company and evertually fight on its side vs the state of PA over land in the Pennamite Wars 1769-1782, 1771 21 July "in ye battle of Wyoming" with Connecticut forces in Pennamite War 1771 drew lots in Wilkes-Barre PA, named a proprieter 1773 sold Wilkes-Barre land 1774 resided Tunkhannock, up the Susquehanna had 300 acres never certified by land agent 1777 went farther up river to Sheshequin with Anguish 1777 went to Fort Niagara with many others & probably took his family with him. 1777 June 15..in the Indian Department Rangers 1777 Aug fought in the Seige of Fort Stanwix & the Battle of Oriskany 1777 Aug captured at Fort Stanwix & later released..this is in his statement of Compensation claim but history indicates that he and others were given leave by St Leger to go to the Susquehanna to get cattle & families. 1777 Late Dec captured by CT Militia and imprisoned in Wilkes-Barre & later Hartford gaol. 1777 Butler's Ranger paid (even though absent) as such from Dec 25 1777 to 24 Oct 1778 1778 27 May Kentner& Anguish petitioned to the CT Assembly for release as they were suppporters of the Revolution who had been captured by the Tories and forced to work 1778 c 28 May freed by CT Assembly & walked to Tioga where they joined Butler 1778 3 July with Anguish in the Royal Greens at the Battle of Wyoming (Craft p75) No doubt with Butler in Niagara for the following year 1779 6 July family arrived in Machiche near Montreal ;"from Niagara"; in Machiche until 1784 1780..enlisted June 25 in the King's Royal Regiment of New York, 2nd Battalion 6' tall Son John enlisted too 1783-4 in Machiche with family 1m <10, 1m >10, 1f <10, 1f >10 1784 Regiment disbanded, soldiers and families went up river for land in what is now ON 1784 KRR NY Muster roll settled RT#5 Matilda Twp Lot 10 Con 3 1785 in Matilda Twp, Dundas Co.
