Wanderte ca 1847 nach Pennsylvania aus.
Charles Heinrick Hucke came to America when he was around age 15. Both he
and his brother were sent here to avoid the army in Germany. On the way
here Charles' brother was killed some how ( maybe he drown). After this
happened Charles continualed on to Butler, Pa., where he stayed with his
Uncle " Mr. George Beal".
When the Civil War broke out He joined the Ohio Infantry.
Charles served the full duration of the war. He served with General Sherman,
at the Siege of Vicksburg,Tennessee.
His term of service was over at this time and he was mustered out of the
Army. He then reinlisted back into the Army and finished out the war as a
guard at a P.O.W. camp in Maryland. Some time during the War he was
struck by a bullet that hit his powder box. This left a mark on his body
through out his life, but other than that he received No wounds.
On January 1, 1869 Charles married Anna Otelea Hoffman.
Charles worked as a railroad dispacher.
