Notizen zu dieser Person
Family records list Lena's birth date as October 8, 1898; the Social Security Death Index indicates a birth date of October 10, 1898. Either date could be correct. Lena's death date is confirmed by various sources, including the Social Security Death Index, where she is listed as Lena Laur. In the 1920's, Lena corresponded with her brother, John, who was in Kansas City in Leavenworth prison. According to Ted Potthast, Lena left Baltimore about 1950, and moved to Kansas City, MO. This would seem to be reaffirmed by the location of her daughter Anna's death in Kansas City, MO (as documented in the Social Security Death Index). However, according to Greg Laur, Lena's grandson, she and two of her children (William and Agnes) moved to Miami, Fl, not Kansas City in 1950. But they didn't stay long; after experiencing their first hurricane, Lena brought her children back to Baltimore.
