Obituary Hemmerling, Emanuel, (d. 1973; b. 1890; TS; OC; obit) "Emanuel Hemmerling Is Laid To Rest. Emanuel Hemmerling, a life longfarmer here in the Odessa area died in the Odessa Memorial hospital onMarch 2, following a heart attack several days earlier. He was born onDecember 9, 1890 in Russia, making him 82 at the time of his death.Funeral services were held from the United Congregational Church, ofwhich he was a member, on Monday morning with Pastor B..M. Schaferofficiating. Mr. Hemmerling was the son of Gottlieb and LouiseHemmerling. The family moved from Russia to a farm north of Odessa in1902, living there until 1918, when they moved to another locationsouth of Odessa. Emanuel and Louise Weishaar were married on February9, 1913. The couple just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.They had four sons and one daughter. One son, Emanuel, preceded him indeath. The couple retired in 1941 and moved to town, where they havelived since that time. Surviving Mr. Hemmerling are his wife, Louise;sons Clarence and Robert of Odessa and Ivan of Marlin; daughter ViolaLightbody of Longview; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Abrother, Fred of Ephrata also survives, as well as two sisters, LydiaFrieske and Lena Raugust of Spokane." (obit submitted by family)
