The parents of both Friedrich and Wilhelmina migrated from Germany toRussia. After marriage, they started back toward Germany and 5 children wereborn to them in Turkey.After Wilhelmine's death, Friedrich took thechildren to Rumania. He came to US in 1907 with his son John and settled at Turtle Lake,ND. Son Friedrict had come over in 1906. Eva and her family came in1914 and settled at Anamoose, ND. OBITUARY (translated from German) of Friedrich Schalo born in Broeneand died at the home of his son John. His wife and two daughterspreceded him in death, the remainder of his life he lived as a lonelywidower. During this time he surrendered his life to the Lord, and in1904 deired to be baptized in the biblical manner. He was baptized bythe minister August Luck as a member of the church at Cataoli,Rumania. After emigrating to the US, he joined the church atRosenfeld, ND., where he remained a member for the rest of his life.Six weeks before his death, he lost his mental capacity, but hecontinued to eat meals regularly and was not confined to bed. During his last day he did not come to breakfast. When food wasbrought to him, he had no appetite and complained that he was notfeeling well. Later that day his voice became so weak that he couldnot be heard and at 10 PM he quietly passed away to be with the Lord.He leaves behind 2 sons, 1 daughter, 20 grandchildren, 2 brothers and2 sisters.
