COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Carl Edward Gygi, 40, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Elkhart, passed away April 5, 2018, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was born June 14, 1977, in Elkhart, to Ronnie C. and Wilma I. (Overton) Gygi. His parents survive along with a sister, Kathy (Carl) Cora of Elkhart; a brother, Troy (Tiffany) Gygi of Watauga, Texas; a niece, Allyson Cora (fiancé Paul Luczkowski) of Elkhart; two nephews, Zachary Cora of Elkhart and Gustav Gygi of Watauga, Texas. Also surviving are a close friend since the 7th grade, Derek (Diane) Cram and family of Brownsburg, and many other close friends. Carl was a kind, considerate and generous person. His family will always miss and love him. Carl graduated in 1995 from Memorial High School and from Purdue University in 1999 with a dual degree in electrical and computer engineering. He went to work at LSI Logic in 1999 which is now Broad Com and worked for them for 19 years. He also was a principal system engineer. Carl was a member of the National Honor Society and received many awards while in high school. He worked for Martins Supermarkets while he was in high school and college. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 13 and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Zach Rainey from the Connection Point Church in West Lafayette will preside and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
