[wmHarrell.FTW] 1. Hustus Studstill, a son of Hustus and Elizabeth Studstill, was bornin South Carolina, Beaufort District, in 1785. He was brought by hisparents in boyhood to Effingham County and was cut into Screven County,1793, and into Bulloch County in 1796. He was married August 7, 1805, inBulloch County, to Rachel Sirmans born 1790 in Georgia, daughter ofJosiah Sirmans. 2. Mr. Studstill and family were cut out of Bulloch into Emanuel Countyin the latter's creation in 1812, and continued to live there until about1825, when they moved to Lowndes County where Mrs. Studstill's parents,brothers and sisters had moved. After a short residence there they movedonto Early County with Abner Sirmans and Family. After three or fouryears' residence in Early they moved again, this time to Russell CountyAlabama, where Mr. Studstill died February 18, 1836. Mrs. Studstill andall her children except Mrs. Sheffield, returned to Lowndes County in1837 or 1838. They located in the old home community east of the AlapahaRiver, and 1850 were cut into Clinch County out of Lowndes. Mrs.Studstill spent her last twenty-odd years with her daughter, Mrs. Smithin Clinch County. She died at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, herdaughter, in 1878 and was buried in Fender Cemetery on the Alapaha Riverin West Clinch (now Lanier) County. Mr. Studstill was the administrator on the estate of his deceasedbachelor brother, Jonathan Studstill, in Bulloch County 1810-1812.
