Mary Jane King McIntire's legacy to us has been her scrapbook wheere
she kept record of the deaths and happenings in her family and of her
husbands.
After her death, this scrapbook waskept by Emma Dearth McIntire.
Among the papers given to Betty Louise McIntireGoodwin- There was the
acceptance of the asking of Mary Jane's hand in marriage written by her
father Josiah King.
John McIntire was a Methodist Ministerwho died very young.
After the death of John, Mary Jane came back to her people. She bought
the property in Perry Township known as the "Willow". Itmust have been
a showplace in it's time. (newspaper clipping)
Mary Jane's will is recorded in Westmore County, PA where she spent the
last years of her life.
She lived near Latrobe, Westmoreland County, PA. The will was probated
April 11, 1914.
Mary Jane is found in Luzerne Twp., Fayette Co., PennsylvaniaCensus
Record 1880 as Mary McIntire, 44, a widow born in Pennsylvania, Charles,
15, John 10, and Josiah 8.
