Robert came through Ellis Island at least twice. Once was 13 Sep 1909 on the Vaderland from Antwerp. That record indicates he was married at the time and his son Erwin(Arvin) was with him, but does not indicate that he was in the company of his wife. It also indicates that his mother was still living in Barmen at that time.
We know that he returned to Germany to obtain new looms for the mill and the subsequent arrival was 19 May 1921 on the New Rochelle from Bremen.
The 1910 US Census lists Robert as the manager of the ribbon factory, had been married 4 years and year of emigration to the US was 1907 and English was their current language.
The Petition for Naturalization dated 2 Jul 1912 indicates that Robert came to the US on 2 Mar 1907, arriving in New York aboard the Vaterland from Antwerp.
The 1920 US Census indicates that Robert became a US citizen in 1912.
