Margaret Ann CUMMINS

Margaret Ann Cummins was born in Ohio in October of 1840. Married toDavid M. McWilliams in Buchanan County, Iowa in 1859. There was bornto them ten children, eight of whom survive---Paul and Julia of LongBeach, California; Lola in Wyoming;and Worth, Minnie, Grant, John andHoward in this county. One daughter, Addie Oviatt and an infant sonpreceded her in death. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 28great-grandchildren. She was a daughter of a Methodist minister andunited with that church when a young woman. Entered into restSaturday, August 16,1924, aged 83 years, 9 months and 23 days. Herhusband passed away in 1912.<br>Tuesday afternoon many friends and relatives gathered at the homesouth of town, where services were held, Elder Joseph Lane incharge,andburial was made in the family plot in Soldier Valley Cemetery.<br>Thusis passed to rest another of the good mothers of early days. Theyfilled a placein home and community life much different than thoseofthe present day and theirmemory is indeed sacred beyond the limits ofthe home circle. Peace by theirs.<br><br>Her maiden name is spelled different in some info---it was Cummins.<br>David also died in 1913.<br>Obit publishedin a county paper.
