Mrs. Ruth White, 69, passed away at 5:30AM Tuesday at the GilletteHome here where she had resided the last five years. She had been inillhealth for some time and had been bedfast the past three months.
The deceased was the wife of Charles R. White of Missouri Valley.
The daughter of Granville and Josephine Huff,she was born October1,1885 at Little Sioux, Iowa. She was reared in Little Siouxandattended the Little Sioux school.
Prior to her marriage, she taught schoolin Onawa and Little Siouxfor 10 years. She was married to Mr. White at LittleSioux on Dec. 23,1913. They resided on a farm at Little Sioux for many years.
Besides her husband, Mrs. White is survived by a son, Jack White ofPisgah: a daughter, Mrs. Francis Clark of Orson; a brother, Clyde Huffof Missouri Valley; andfive grandchildren.
The body is at the Hennessey & Van Cleave Funeral Homehere.
Short services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30PM Thursday.Thebodywill then be taken to the Methodist Church in Little Siouxwhere services will be conducted at 2:30PM. The Rev. Walter Williamswillofficiate. Burial will be inSoldier Valley Cemetery.
The following teachers of the public schools left on Friday eveningfor the two weeks Christmas vacation, most of them to spend the timeintheir various homes.
Quite a surprise appeared when Miss Ruth Huff announced herintentionof being married this vacation. The old home by LittleSiouxhas justbeen sold, and the father and mother are going west to live.Miss Huff isbeing married at this time in order to have the ceremonyperformed at herold home. She will continue the year as Mrs. White.
