William Harvey Trout, 84, who had lived most of his life in the Union, Mich. vicinity, died at 7:00 a.m. today (Feb. 12, 1946) in the Three Rivers, Mich. hospital. He had been ill for several years. Mr. Trout was born near Jamestown (Jimtown), in Baugo Township, Elkhart County, Ind., on March 27, 1862, the son of Isaac and Mahala (Daniel) Trout. In September, 1896, he was married in Goshen, Ind., to Julia O. Nutting, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Trout lived on a farm near Union, and in addition to farming he also worked as a carpenter. He was of German (Pennsylvania Dutch) and English (and possible Welsh) descent. In addition to the widow, survivors include the following children: Claude H., of near Union; Mrs. Stanley D. (Clemence M.) Cleveland and Mrs. Carl R. (Florence M.) McMurray, both of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Darcy T. (Eunice L.) Barnes, South Gate, Calif., and Mrs. Clyde G. (J. Marguerite) Harmon, Cassopolis; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elmer E. (Minerva A.) Herman and Mrs. William L. (Mary E.) Frank of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a son, Clarence L. The body is at Geisler funeral home, in Constantine, Mich. Funeral services will be held in the late home near Union, and burial will take place in the East Union cemetery. Note: Obituary Information from Elkhart Truth.
