IN MEMORIAM
Advocate, Burnie
Saturday 23 August 1919
VON SCHILL.-In sad and loving memory of our dear son and brother, Private William A. Von Schill,
A.M.C., 10th Field Ambulance, who died of wounds received in France, August 24, 1918.
He rose responsive to his country's call, And gave for her his best, his life, his all.
-Inserted by his loving mother, sisters and brothers, Latrobe.

VON SCHILL.-In the sad and loving memory of Pte. William Alfred Von Schill, who died of wounds received in France, August 24, 1918.
The midnight stars are shining, On a grave I cannot see,
Where, sleeping without dreaming, Lies the one so dear to me;
His warfare o'er, his battles fought, His victory won, though dearly bought ;
His fresh young life could not be saved, He slumbers now in a soldier's grave.
I prayed that God would keep a watch And shield him in the fray;
But, alas, my hopes were blighted When the sad news reached me that day.
I pictured his safe returning And longed to clasp his hand ;
But death has postponed the meeting, 'Twill be in a better land.
-Inserted by his loving fiancee, L. B. Stewart.

"The Price of Peace"
Over the sea our sad thoughts roam
To wehre our dear son sleeps far from home.
In a soldier's grave he is sleeping,
One of the bravest and best;
In our hearts he will live for ever,
For we know he is only at rest.
-Inserted by his loving mother, brothers, and sisters, Latrobe, Tasmania"
