Notizen zu dieser Person
During the end of the reign of King Edward VI, son of Henry VIII and his 3rd wife Jane Seymour, Robert Pitkin was born in a small hamlet outside present dayLondon. The Pitkin story begins during the reign of the Tudor dynasty from Edward VI through the persecutions of the Catholic Queen "Bloody" Mary in the years shortly before relative peace was established by Queen Elizabeth I. England, and all of Europe was still aflame with reformation which had begun only 30 years before when Martin Luther hung the 95 theses on the court church in Wittenburg in Germany. In Robert Pitkin's England, the protestant reformation had only just begun with the establishment of the Anglican Church of England by Henry VIII. He grew up in the same generation that produced William Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Francis Bacon. Nothing is known specifically about the life and death of Robert Pitkin, but his descendants are in the thousands, both across Europe and in North America.
